Look at me like your special needs Brother.

Try to be patient with my posting a lot! To let the few who follow me know why I post so much. This is my authentic me, expressing myself. Look at me like your special needs Brother. I suffered a massive brain aneurysm on September 17th 2010 and then two weeks later I suffered a massive stroke. My stroke left me half paralyzed, unable to walk anymore, wheelchair bound, with a serious speech deficit and many many other issues. You can read my survival story here https://icantwalkbuticanfly.blogspot.com/p/my-story.html I have spent the last eight years of my life, unable to walk, bound to a wheelchair. So why does that influence how much I post? Because I have received 99% of my social interaction with the outside world for the last eight years behind my computer, bound to a wheelchair. My computer is pretty much my only connection to you my other human brother and sisters. You are my world. But please, never feel sorry for me! My life is truly amazing! You see, through this life changin...

How a DJI Drone helped my stroke survival.

Hi, My name is Aaron Avila  I suffered a massive brain aneurysm on September 17th 2010. Then two weeks later while in a comma I suffered a massive stroke. My stroke left me totally mute, half paralyzed and unable to walk. (It's been 8 years). I now speak with a speech deficit. I'm not going to go in depth initially but flying a DJI Spark drone gave me a w ay to express myself creatively for the first time since  my stroke in 2010. I discovered drones through a friend from almost 30 years ago named Tom Iliffe. Tom and I lost contact for over 20 years.  Thanks to Facebook Tom and I reconnected. When Tom found out I had suffered a brain aneurysm and stroke that left me half paralyzed and wheelchair bound Tom  was moved with comparison. Tom told me that I may not be able to walk, but I can fly a drone one handed. What a life changing time this was for me! You see, one of the most difficult effects of stroke is it completely strips you of your abilit...

Sorry I had to cancel my drone show today! But here's some content about it.

It was just bad timing! I had been working at my computer for hours this morning with absolutely no camera problems. Then 60 seconds before I hit go live, my camera goes offline and has a total failure!  It's going to take me some time to replace it but here's some of the content of what I was going to share. I'm extremely excited about the direction my drone movement is going! As I continue to grow and learn more about making quality drone videos, I think I will be able to develop quality drone filming content you will find useful and entertaining. So in today's show I was going to introduce you to a drone video making technique known as Drone Cinematic Sequence Video. When done correctly, creating a drone cinematic sequence video is one of the most engaging ways of showcasing your cinematic drone film. (In my opinion of course) Start by reading my show notes blog here. After reading my blog watch my show video by clicking here.  I have a lot to l...

11-3-18 Drone Show Notes

Image
Hi! I'm Aaron Avila. Thank for taking interest in my unique drone show. I use a DJI Spark to raise stroke awareness. Today's show topic Drone Cinematic Sequencing  What is a cinematic drone sequence? It's about a five minute video containing a compilation of cinematic drone shots sequencing or changing clips every three to five seconds. It's important to tell a story and maintain content or subject continuity within your video. Before I give you the impression I know what I'm doing regarding producing cinematic drone sequences, I want to make very clear "I Don't" I've studied hours of video tutorials on producing and flying cinematic sequences but have no real hand on stick flight time.  (Remember I'm a one handed, half paralyzed stroke survivor) So I can only control one stick at a time.  ( Read my personal stroke survival story here) So bottom line is I have lots of theory with no actual flight time or post pro...

Amiture Drone Pilot Mistake!

Zach was nice enough to drive me out to a beautiful location to shoot my drone show called Sugarloaf State Park.  I just knew that this was going to be the place of my first ever cinematic drone video! My first and opening shot was going to be a low slow cinematic fly over some boulders with the ground dropping out revealing a beautiful treed forest valley. (I flew it flawlessly, just ask me) Cinematic flying the valley! Got home and popped the micro SD Card out of Spark falling between my no motor skill fingers and of all places falling down the heater register! Noooooooooooo! My family already helps me a lot with my drone. Now I have to go ask my son for help and fish my SD Card out of the heater register! Noooooooooooooo! lol Ryan finley found it after sifting through stuff I have no clue even how it gets down a heater vent in the first place. Once I got the SD Card I just knew I was going to be watching some amazing video! Now for the ultimate amateur move! ...
